A spiral point tap has a chiselled point that pushes the metal chips ahead of the forming threads. This is useful when tapping through-holes (holes that extend through the work piece). 

Spiral Point taps are not recommended for use in blind holes: the accumulation of chips can bind and break the tap.

Manufactured from high speed steel with a black oxidised finish for increased durability and heat resistance. Featuring precision ground flutes for accurate thread formations.
